[ she's more relaxed than she was a little while ago, that's for sure, but not by much. she's trying, but maybe that's why she's not falling asleep as quickly as she should be. she's thinking too much, about everything. which normally results in her just hauling up in her room for a few days, but- yeah. there's too much that reminds her of Barry there, too much that makes it hard to pick apart the feelings she has for Barry Allen and how she feels about him being back with no memories of this place. ugh. it's dumb. it's all dumb.

but Harrison's home and she only really clues into that once he's moving into the bedroom, that's when her mind pulls itself out of its tired train of thought so she can focus on snuggling in against him. she doesn't normally snuggle with him this way, but he puts his arm around her and she's turning onto her side so she can tuck herself back against him, lacing her fingers up with his so she can pull his arm around her a little tighter. and it's nice, right, because she's ditched her bra so she's immediately surrounded by the heat of him pressed up against her back, his hand still tangled up tight with hers until she's flatting his palm against the flat of her chest, above her breasts, just under her collarbones. it's easy to get comfortable that way, even if she realizes perfectly well that she's kind of physically begging him to just hold her for a little while. it'd be embarrassing if she was bothered by that, but right now she can't seem to worry about it.

when she arches her back against him a little bit, it's in part to try and save face. like she's just here to try and seduce him, like she's just feeling playful. but then also, yeah, maybe it's not totally a cover. sure. she kind of likes how easy it is for him to curl up all around her just from being so damn tall ]

[He lets her move his hand to where she wants it, and it's telling that she wants it pressed to her chest. They've never really done this before anything else, most of the time when they end up curled around each other it's after the fact, but she needs it. She wouldn't have gone to sleep in his bed if she didn't. So he leaves it there, and takes his cue to curl up a little more, boxing her in.

He could pick up on more cues too, but right now he keeps still, feeling the steady beat against his palm, appreciating how warm she is. Maybe they'll get around to it later. It's a whisper in the darkness when he speaks.]

How are you doing?

[She may not want to talk about it, but it's what friends do.]

[ no, she doesn't want to talk about it. mostly because she doesn't know how to even put into words how messed up she feels right now. it's new for her in a not-great way. ] It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. [ she's still moving around a little bit, getting comfortable in his space, tucking her foot back between his shins, fitting herself back against him even more that way. she leaves his hand where it is, but she traces her fingers along the back of his wrist up to his knuckles and back down again, because nope, there's no chance of her being able to reel the neediness in at this point. ]

It's weird missing someone that's right in front of you. I don't like that. I don't like that I'm not happy to see him. Seeing him makes me miss him more. It's all backwards, you know? [ she huffs a sigh, fidgeting back against him without really moving anywhere. she's just antsy. ] I don't wanna think about it.

Yeah. I know. [This Barry is so young. He hadn't ever pictured Barry like this. He doesn't really know what to do with him, how to teach him, how to help him. He has no idea where to start, and keeping Eobard out of the way...

He rests his head against her shoulder and nods, shifting to wrap his other arm around her waist. If she wants to be held, fine. He doesn't mind. He can only hope she'd know he wouldn't mind, but maybe that's why she's here. He's...comfortable. They're important to each other, they care about each other, but they're not in love. So he's comfortable. He's safe.

His arms tighten a little as he kisses her neck.] Don't think about it. Get some sleep. Think about it tomorrow.

I don't wanna sleep either.

[ she's being kind of a brat, she knows, like she's finding more things to pout about or something. but his chin rests on her shoulder and she's reaching up to scratch her fingers back through his hair, which makes it easy to arch her back, which of course leads to her pressing back into his hold on her even more. it's all slow moving, lazy in the low summer heat of his room, but deliberate in whatever way, sure. she scrunches her fingers in his hair and tips her face towards his, not really turning her body yet, but it's probably obvious she's thinking about it ]

Let's not sleep yet.

Let me guess.

[It's half a joke, half not, if she wants to roll around and get into more trouble. He isn't exactly going to object, and he's already tipping his head into her fingers. If this is what's going to help, he's happy to help.

It's hard to know what's going to help the most. He's already lost someone he loved to the ends of the earth, he knows something about what that feels like, but it's not exactly the same. There isn't a version of her walking around the city who has never met him. He can't imagine that. It makes him tighten his arms a little more, pulling her flush against him, like maybe enough contact will shield her from whatever emotions are roiling through her because of this mercurial city. That's not what he's for, he knows, but it's a time of night when maybe he can be excused his brief deeper feeling.]

Not talk either?

Maybe some talk. Only a little.

[ she's grinning when she finally straightens out so she can turn around in his arms, movement not stopping until she's pushing him onto his back and kneeling over him. she keeps her body close because she's not looking to tease, not really, not when it's more interesting to fold her arms near his shoulders and dip down to kiss him. her thighs tuck close against him so she can rock her hips just a little tiny bit, movement that comes easily with the enthusiasm of her kiss.

she's not rushing, she's just insisting, in a way. ]

[He knows from experience that they can do this for a lot longer than he'd really expected. He'd always assumed he was past the makeouts-for-hours stage, but as in several other things, Gwen has proven him wrong. He moves easily with her by now, hands shifting to slide down her back and up again, settling on her ribs as he tips his head to kiss back, pushing a little harder.

Okay, they'll leave it. For right now. It's not easy for Harrison to think about this version of Barry either, it must be ten times worse for her, and if he can distract her from that, he's more than happy to oblige.]

[ meanwhile, Gwen's just all about kissing. the stuff that comes after is great too, but making out for a good long while is one of her favorite things. especially when it starts to get a little frustrating after a while. she likes feeling the noises he gives her against her tongue, when teeth are pulled into the equation because sometimes biting and being a little rough is better than just asking for more. it also just makes it easier to stop thinking, which is an huge added bonus right now.

it works, for a little while. when she sits back and plants her hands on the mattress instead of her forearms, she probably looks like she wants to be making some moves to carry things along, but instead ]

Did you talk to him in person? When you found out he was back, was it- Did you see him? Or did he text you?

[ siiigh ]

[His hands have already slipped down to bracket her hips, but at her questions he relaxes a little against the pillow and smiles a tired smile.]

Text first. But there was too much to tell him over text. I saw him. He looks... [He sighs, tipping his head back to stare at the ceiling for a long moment, linking his fingers at the small of her back again.] Young. He looks young. I know he's only a year younger than he was when I met him. Seems longer ago.

[ even though Gwen was absolutely the one who pulled the breaks early on him just now, as soon as he tips his head back just that little bit, she's curling up to press kisses against his neck, snuggling up closer to him. it's in part to hide her face, sure, but mostly because she wants to be kissing him still, even if her brain keeps zooming back to Barry freaking Allen. it's a weird mental state to be in. ]

It's crazy what a year of superheroics will do to a guy, huh? [ said casually between kisses like it's not painfully true ] And who knows - I mean, he can run through time, can't he? There's probably so many of him. The Barry I know, the Barry you know, the Barry that's here.. [ is she trying to brain time travel while sucking little kisses on Harrison's neck? yes ]
