you can still be his friend/mentor/whatever, you just have to figure out how to make it clear you're not going to let the guy that stole your face and murdered a bunch of people get the best of you

trust me it was a learning process for me too but he's worth it

all i know about eobard thawne is that he killed barry's mom, and cisco, and yet still somehow convinced the people here to let him come back a second time to grant who-even-knows what kind of wish.
